More than 40 people were killed in a bus accident in southern Zimbabwe. Police spokesman Charity Charamba said in a statement Friday that at least 20 people were injured in the night’s crash. Many of them were seriously injured in the fire.
The accident happened in Guanda district, 550 kilometers south of Zimbabwe’s capital Harare. It is not known how many passengers were in the bus during the accident.
Charity Charamba said the reasons for the accident are still unknown. He could not say anything more about this.
Red Cross, posted in Zimbabwe, has posted a picture of the accidental bus in a tweet message. In the picture, the bus was completely burnt.
At least 47 people were killed in clashes between two buses in a highway between the city of Rausap and Harar in the beginning of this month.
